If you love chess or know someone who loves chess this is the board!
These boards are NOT a bunch of squares glued together! These are solid wood with inlaid Epoxy squares and elegant scroll design!
We start with Walnut or Oak, Glue up and precision flatten both sides.
Then we use the CNC to remove the wood from every other square (2.25 x 2.25 inch - official size) to a depth of .3 inches and cut in the text and design.
The next step is to pour the epoxy and let cure for 4 days.
We again precision flatten using the CNC to remove excess epoxy.
After this we sand to 400 grit and apply a coat of Rubio Monocoat (a high-grade finish) which forms a molecular bond to the wood. After a few days we apply a finish wax for a finish that lets you smoothly slide the queen over for a checkmate on your friends.
